February News from Gift Hutt

What’s New at Gift Hutt

Upstyling furniture is getting very popular and Gift Hutt stocks the Voodoo Molly Vintage paints and associated products to make it easy for you.  These paints have been 18 months in research and development and your projects require minimal preparation for these paints.  Feel free to come to the Bring Your Own Project on Saturday 11 and 18  February to find out more from our resident expert, Beth.

The classes for Emma Lou, the Creative Director from Heartfelt Creations, are getting full, but there are still some places available.  This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from a very talented and creative person and my personal inspiration. I have been paper crafting for over 20 years and the Heartfelt Creations range of products are the best products that I have ever used, and my cardmaking has gone to a whole new level.  And now this is your chance to learn from the expert and create cards and albums that will amaze all your friends and family.

June News

Oops I have been very remiss in keeping up the news here.  I am now full of good intentions and intend to do this monthly if not more often.

Last month we had some very successful workshops.  Heinz Speyer taught us how to draw and I was very impressed with what I was able to draw, I taught a class using the lovely Heartfelt Creations Berry Café cardmaking kit.  Beth had a couple of great classes and the participants went home with a finished footstool and some fabulous painted furniture.  Check out this photos!

New in store are some gorgeous mosaic shapes including hearts, lizards and a seahorse and turtle along with other gorgeous products from Now Crafts.  Niesia lives locally and makes the most beautiful must have home decor items.  Also just in are these fabulous clocks from Nixie Noo Designs.  They make a lovely addition to your home decor as well.  I am now stocking genuine Pounamu from Ngai Tahu which is a privilege and I feel very honoured.  Each piece of pounamu has been lovingly crafted by local artisans and all carry a special bar code and number that you can verify on the Ngai Tahu website.
I hope that everyone is keeping warm and dry with the winter weather that we are finally getting.  Now is a great time to get crafty with no distractions outdoors.
Upcoming worshops include making a beautiful shoe shaped card for the special person.  Unfortunately, the workshop that had been planned had to be postponed due to a glitch in my order.  I will be looking at doing two classes next month featuring the Under the Sea and Botanical Orchid collection from Heartfelt Creations.  Check out the Botanical Orchid collection which is now winging its way to New Zealand here.  They are just beautiful and I can’t wait until they arrive.
Beth’s upholstery and furniture painting workshops are on the 25th June (furniture painting) and 26th June (footstool making).  You will need to book in quickly here as the places do fill up quickly.
For the paper crafters, I have got some Dove blender pens arriving in the next day or so and I have an order for Designers Dry Clear and White adhesives from Art Glitter arriving in the next week or so.  I am also looking at stocking the new Sizzix Big Shot Plus and accessories – but these are pre-pay only and you will need to allow two to three days delivery.  There are lots of new products coming so please keep checking out the website for new additions here.
Over the next few months I will be gradually adding a wider range of art and craft supplies for the artists and crafters to be able to purchase.  As a paper crafter myself, I know how frustrating it is not being able to purchase products easily in New Zealand and I aim to fill some of those gaps.  If there is any particular product that you would like to be able to purchase through Gift Hutt please feel free to contact me and I can see if I can source this for you.  I am happy to look for any crafts not just papercrafting.
If you can think of any craft you would like to learn or are able to teach at Gift Hutt please contact Beth  at gifthuttworkshops@gmail.com or phone her on 0272652253.

Have a great month and Happy Crafting
Patricia and Beth
